Following university, Eugene left Edmonton to pursue a professional soccer career in Hong Kong. An early passion for sneakers meant that he spent his free time researching, writing, and connecting with others in the multi-billion dollar world of streetwear and footwear. This lead him to become HYPEBEAST’s first-ever editor. Following 9 years as Editorial Director at HYPEBEAST, he left to launch MAEKAN and what he sees as the future of culture-driven media.
