At the age of 17 Julius started his own graphic and web design company, Julius Juul Studio. After graduating from STX he began his journey into the education of visual communication, a 3 year journey working in art direction, communication, design, photography and copywriting. Developing a strong interest in the fashion industry Julius began to work with clients such as: Kanye West, Michael Kors, Robert Geller, Hood By Air, Alexander Wang, Nike, Adidas, CondéNast and many others. In 2015, Julius worked with Kanye West on the YEEZY Season 1 and on personal projects with Kanye himself. In 2016, Julius and his brother Victor created a clothing brand—HELIOT EMIL™. Named after their great-grandfather, the HELIOT EMIL unisex collections feature a Scandinavian, monochromatic aesthetic with an attention to detail. In charge of all creative aspects of the company, Julius is inspired by thought-provoking themes and sources various fabrics around the world (along with customized Japanese trimmings) to realize each collection, and final garment production takes place in Italy, France and Portugal.
