I’m Matt Kaplan, or some people know me as Karoni. I’m from Long Island NY originally, but moved to LA earlier this year. I’m 21 years old & work with artists as well as brands creating photos & videos. Been shooting since I was 16 y/o. I snuck into a Wiz Khalifa show to shoot it when I was 18 y/o which sparked my interest. From then I started to take my photography & videography seriously when I got my first push into the industry a few months later. Interning at 300 Entertainment. Since then I’ve worked at Cinematic Music Group, Complex & have worked with artists such as Partynextdoor, Migos, Joey Bada$$, Injury Reserve & brands like Carrots by Anwar Carrots, Rare Panther, MCM, Beatsbydre & more. Personally, I love being outside. Whether I’m shooting or just taking in the beautiful LA environment, I always have to be active. Being from a suburb in NY it’s pretty basic. Everything’s really dull & stale for most part. While in LA there is so much color & energy everyday. From amazing building colors to awesome weather. I try to take advantage of where I am & everything diverse & new around me, I use that as inspiration.
