Bronx native Raven B is a photographer with her finger on the pulse of pop culture. Raven first realized that she could make photography her career in high school, where she took it as an elective at the The High School of Math, Science & Engineering at CCNY. She then attended NYU, majoring in communications, where she spent more time refining her craft, by shooting and exploring underground rap shows. Recognizing that this is what she loves best, Raven decided to turn her photography into a career. Taking a leap of faith in July 2015, Raven quit her 9–5 job and pursued freelance photography full time. She is most well known for covering music and cultural events around the city. Raven shoots with brands such Beats by Dre, Nike and FinishLine, and her live concert photos of rap heavy-hitters such as Future, Drake, Kanye, and Big Sean have been featured and credited by Complex, Fader, and Hypebeast. Next up—venturing into more sport photography, and developing a photography youth program with emphasis on how art and education are intertwined.
