As a child, Sean Brown dreamed of being a Disney animator—as he grew up that dream quickly evolved into fashion designer once he started crafting airbrushed tees in his teens. In 2007, after a year-long stint at the International Academy of Design and Technology, Sean took his first major step in fashion, launching Bamboo—a casual sportswear label around the concept of vintage Lacoste shirts. His next major project,“The Art of Reuse,” set out to redefine the culture around thrifting. He then founded NEEDS&WANTS in 2013, a Canadian label best known for its subtle, luxe takes on outerwear staples. Sean is currently working on his latest project, titled “Room for Research”—a solo exhibit exploring his creative process.
